About Michelle

Michelle was born in Rockhampton Hospital and has spent her entire life in the community that she now represents in Parliament as the Member for Capricornia.

Small business runs through Michelle’s veins, with her parents Bill and Gloria having run the Lucky Daniel’s Casket Agency in William Street, Rockhampton for over two decades. Growing up, Michelle had the values of hard work instilled in her as she helped sell casket tickets to local customers and developed a work ethic that has served her well ever since.

She completed High School at Rockhampton Girls’ Grammar before establishing her own book keeping business in Central Queensland.

Michelle decided to get involved in politics as she wanted to stand up for mum-and-dad small business owners and the interests of Central Queensland. In 2013 she was successfully elected as the LNP Member for Capricornia.

In her time in Parliament, Michelle has never forgotten where she’s come from or who she is fighting for. She has fought hard for the entire region and delivered on vital infrastructure projects to help create more jobs for the region.

As the proud Mother of two daughters, Michelle is determined to make Australia the best country that it can be.
