About Scott
Scott Buchholz is the Federal Member for Wright.
Scott wouldn’t ask any of his staff to do a shift or a job he hasn’t done himself. It’s how he leads. Whether it was during his 25 years in the transport industry that included starting his own successful business, or his time in the finance industry where his Commercial and AgriFinance skills saw him helping rural businesses across Queensland.
Scott works daily with local community groups, schools, service organisations, sporting clubs, chambers of commerce, farmers and small business operators to create more opportunities for our local region. By staying in touch with our local community Scott is better able to fight for what we need in Canberra.
Scott founded the Parliamentary Friends of Small Business and has served for eight years on Australia’s Standing Committee on Economics. He served as the Chairman of the Public Works Committee where he provided scrutiny over taxpayer expenditure of large government projects. During the last Coalition Government, Scott was the Assistant Minister for Roads and Transport and then Assistant Minister for Road Safety and Freight Transport.
